Line and Shape Questions:
I was relatively close to all of the subjects in my photos. In the second and fourth photo, I was extremely close. I used the camera to zoom in on the insect in the fourth photo, and I held my phone close to the tassels in the second photo. Most of my photos were taken straight on, like the photo of the chairs and the lamp. For the photos of the tassels, I took the pictures from below, looking up toward the lines from underneath. My photos are both horizontal and vertical, though most of them are vertical. I did consider the rule of thirds in a few of my shots. For example, in the first photo I captured the lamp in the left third, and the shadow in the right third. Having elements in the thirds makes the photos more interesting. I believe that my first and fourth image have a dynamic composition because of the way the images flow. The viewer's eye is lead through the work due to the many elements within the photos.
Sub Project: Power Lines Gallery:
I considered the rule of thirds in my shots. In the first photo, the pole lies in the lefthand third, making the photo more interesting. In the third photo, the lines lie in the righthand third, also with natural lines in the clouds. I feel that my first photo had the best composition. The viewer's eye is drawn to the pole, then their eyes follow the lines extending from it. There are many different lines to follow in the photo, and the grey, plain sky helps to make the lines pop. I feel that my third photo has the best organic and geometric shapes. The organic shapes come from the lines in the clouds, naturally forming in the clouds, while the power lines are a contrast.
